"As I Am" is a book that explores the body in its natural form. An intimate look at various body types, removing the narrative that bodies are lacking elegance because they bare scars, hair, folds and stretch marks. I liken the body to plants and other foliage because like a leaf each one is variegated and beautiful. I have a really deep appreciation for black and brown women. The things that we go through, how we love ourselves AND each other through the thick of it. Our bodies are sacred, delicate and strong.
